Randi Shenkman specializes in street/documentary photography and fine art photography.

Her work has been widely exhibited at the Tang Museum, Saratoga Springs, NY, and in juried shows in New England, New York, Paris, and Miami. She has published four books of photography, most recently, Los Cubanos, and has won awards at juried shows. Many of her pieces are in private collections.

Photography is Randi Shenkman’s mode of creative expression. While studying in Paris long ago, an artist friend taught her the basics of 35mm photography. Used Yashica in hand, she practiced her new craft all over the city. By the time she returned home, she thought she was pretty good (she was still young and naïve) and somehow actually won a few awards and had a few pieces in a gallery show. It was a good thing that she had her day job as a secondary school educator.

Randi planned to become a photographer when she retired from education. Until then, she practiced her craft by photographing her students, and when she traveled. She opened Belchertown Photos in 2011.
